For proper body coil on the backswing… the shoulders’ rotation, move the hips, which in turn move the knees. There should be no conscious effort of beginning the backswing with the knees or hips. To get the feel of this, place a club behind your neck and across your shoulders, holding the club from each end. Now rotate the shoulder as in your backswing and resist with your lower body. Once you get a “feel” of this movement, place the club in your proper grip and set up… and try to simulate the feel. The lower body moves… but involuntarily. Think of it as the foundation of a good golf swing.
